Fastlane Financial is an independent life insurance agency based in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. It was founded in 2026 by Joseph Citrola and is partnered with Family First Life. We help families put life insurance in place, and we recruit and train the agents who do that work.
What independent means here
We are not an insurance carrier and we are not captive to one. We are appointed with multiple A-rated carriers, which means we can take a client's age, health history, budget and goal, and place the case with whichever company underwrites that particular situation most favorably.
The practical version: a health condition that produces a decline or a heavy rating at one carrier can produce a standard offer at another. A captive agent has one answer. We have several, and no financial reason to prefer one over the next.
The carrier pays us, and it costs you nothing extra
Life insurance rates are filed with your state's department of insurance. The same policy from the same carrier costs the same premium whether you buy it through an agency or go direct — the commission is already inside the filed rate. There is no version of this where using an agent makes your premium higher.
What we place
- Mortgage protection — term life sized to the balance on the house, so a family is not forced to sell.
- Final expense — small permanent policies covering a funeral and the bills that follow.
- Term and whole life — straight income replacement, and permanent coverage for obligations that never end.
- Indexed universal life — permanent coverage with a cash value component, for the narrower set of people it genuinely suits.
Who runs it
Joseph Citrola founded Fastlane Financial in 2026 after several years selling life and health insurance, including at Globe Life and US Health Group. The agency was built around one complaint he had about every place he had worked: that new agents are recruited on income figures and then left to work out the actual mechanics of the job on their own.
That is why the recruiting side of this site publishes the commission math, the chargeback rate, the unpaid training period and the failure rate up front. It costs us applications. It also means the people who do apply know what they signed up for.
Working with us as a family
A first conversation is about twenty minutes and covers income, debt, dependents, health history and budget. From that we build a needs analysis, shop it across the carriers we are appointed with, and come back with options and the tradeoffs stated plainly — including, regularly, the recommendation to buy less coverage than you called about, or that your existing coverage is already sufficient.
Most of it happens by phone and video, so being local is not a requirement.
Working with us as an agent
We hire licensed agents and people who have not started the licensing process yet. The role is remote, 1099 and commission-only, with leads provided at no cost for the first sixty days and a structured first-sixty-day program with daily training and supervised calls.
It is not for everyone and we say so in writing. The commission mechanics, the chargebacks, the unpaid ramp-up and an honest answer about the MLM question are all published rather than saved for an interview.
